Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,

Q: What types of people does Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) love the most?

A: There are 8 types of people that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) loves the most.

  • Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) loves those who do good.

Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) loves those who do good to people and whoever helps the needy, cares for the sick, provides food for the hungry, reconciles people, discovers new medicine, builds a school or establishes an orphanage to look after children without parents. The most useful person in society is he who is the best and most beneficial whom Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) loves most.

  • Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) loves those who repent.

Repentance is beloved to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) as He (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) says: Verily, Allah loves those who repent and those who purify themselves [Al-Quran 2:222]. Through sincere repentance, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) forgives sins no matter how big they are and no matter how many there are.

  • Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) loves those who purify themselves.

Purification is considered as half of the faith. Cleaning for the sake of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) is also a form of ibadah. Take care that you are always clean. Purification is one of the qualities of the true nature of humans. Other forms of purification is giving Zakah, and charity, purifying our wealth and purifying our heart with good deeds.

  • Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) loves those who are patient.

Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) has mentioned patience in the Quran in 90 places. The rewards of those who exercise patience will be doubled. Patience is the way to earn companionship of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). Patience is linked with hope and trust in Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). When something bad happens, we can force ourselves to be patient by reminding ourselves that with hardship comes ease, and that after a period of hardship, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) gives relief.

  • Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) loves those who are God conscious.

Be conscious of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) wherever you go. Taqwa is defined as those who are conscious of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)’s presence and His knowledge, are motivated to to perform righteous deeds and avoid those which are forbidden. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) states in the Quran: O you who believe! Have Taqwa of Allah, as you should have of him and do not die except as Muslims [Surah Al-Imraan (3):102].

  • Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) loves those who trust Him.

Have full Tawwakul (trust) in Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and never belittle the trust. For the trust we have in Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) is a path to success and a means to achieving victory. Never lose hope and always remember that the situation of a true believer is always of goodness.

  • Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) loves those who are just.

When mankind lacks guidance on how to live their lives, the entire structure of society is damaged. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) has sent down the Quran as a guidance for all of mankind, with all the rules and regulations we need to stay on the right track. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) has commanded us to protect the rights of others, to be fair and just with people, to side with the one who is under oppression and to help and be fair with the needy and orphans.

  • Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) loves those who when they fight evil in His way, they do so united.

The parable of the community of believers is that they are like one body in their love for one another. Just as each organ of a body is connected, so are the believers in their empathy and care for others. Believers must avoid harming one another, they must be generous with one another and behave in the best manner. Every human being deserves a share of empathy and compassion regardless of their religion choices.

May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) give us the understanding to apply these principles to our life. Ameen.
